Julie Cinel

Julie Cinel is an Associate Teaching Professor in the School of Nursing at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. As a certified Operating Room RN, Julie has had a foot in both the perioperative practice and education environments. She has been motivating learners for years! She is currently situated as PNABC President and past ORNAC and NNPBC Board member. Having been involved in many leadership and communication initiatives from the policy level, right down to the individual student level, Julie’s broad knowledge base will undoubtedly offer the perfect balance of inspiration, education, and fun! The Renaissance of Connection - Examining the Science and Power of Community

Following the significant interruption in our usual ways of connecting with others, we are presented with a unique opportunity to examine the state of our personal and professional communities. Current events including the pandemic, wildfires, floods, and personal losses have revealed fault lines throughout our complex networks. This keynote will explore some of the challenges we face as nurses and in our society at large, the neuroscience behind the power of positive relationships, and the effects of the digital era on building community. The importance of initiating new, renewing lost, and nurturing existing relationships will be explored. The audience will be presented with practical strategies for making stronger connections that provide strength and value to your communities.

Professional speaker and comedienne Meg Soper is recognized as one of the premiere motivators in North America. She combines her remarkable sense of humor with her unique perspective of life to captivate her audience and provide a presentation filled with inspiration and entertainment.

Meg has appeared as a keynote speaker and feature performer at conferences and corporate functions across North America and internationally. She has shared the stage with such celebrities as Ray Romano and Ellen Degeneres.

With over 30 years experience in the health care industry and as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, she understands how your attitude affects those around you at home and in the workplace environment. Meg is co-author of the book, “From the Stage to the Page - Life Lessons from Four Funny Ladies”.

She has appeared on the CBC Television Network, Women’s Television Network and Prime TV, as well as being featured in many radio programs and comedy festivals. Meg has a tremendous ability to connect with her audience and take every event to a higher level.
